About the Author
Michael Ochs developed an addiction to rock and roll in the early fifties. To feed his habit, Ochs headed the publicity departments of Columbia, Shelter, and ABC Records in the 60s and 70s. He has also been a disc jockey, taught a rock-history course for UCLA and written for such magazines as Rock, Melody Maker, Cashbox, and Crawdaddy. Michael Ochs established the Michael Ochs Archives in the mid-70s. The archives currently house millions of photographs and over 100,000 albums and singles.

Nice collection of cover art.

A really great book, took me back to the days of my vinyl collection that I foolishly sold years ago. I really appreciated the grouping of the albums by themes that showed the development of art style over the years. I do wish the format were a bit larger though, a part of the great appeal of album art was that great 12" size. This would do very well as a coffee table art book size. T

Bought this as a coffee table book and it is exactly what you would expect. The records are ordered in different categories and often there are neat backstories on the album or the artwork inside. It is a great conversation piece and always one of the first books people pick up to start looking through.

Not just for Anne Frank devotees and young adults.

These stories and essays are well-crafted, yet easy to read. There are lessons to be learned from each piece, and these lessons can be identified easily. But the themes and ideas remain in your head and leave you thinking long after you set the book down - thinking about Anne Frank's life in the Nazi-occupied Europe as well as her ideals. Anyone will discover some aspect of their persona mirrored in Frank's characters, whether it may be through Paula or Kathy or Eve or anyone else.
You should approach the book with an open mind and respect for the writing. If you see that Frank was an intelligent young human being, and not a little kid whose writing you can deal with condescendingly, read this book. Otherwise, skip it. This is honest, wise, well-crafted work, and it should be treated as such.

Amazing Talent and Insights

Having read Anne Frank's famous Diary, I chose to read this volume as well, almost a companion volume to the first. Her diary mentions her writing efforts and it is fun to read them here in their entirety. The quality of the stories increases immensely as we go from one to the next, proving the old axiom that the only way to improve your writing is to practice. But what is really amazing is the insights this young girl was able to bring to her stories. Several seem to be quite plain on the surface yet have an underlying message or theme. Most of them are understandably coming-of-age stories. In addition, we get a little more insight into her life in the attic and those people that surrounded her during that time.
If you enjoyed reading Anne Frank's Diary, then you will also enjoy this volume of stories.

About the Author
ASHLEY WEINBERGis a Chartered Psychologist with 20 years' experience consulting, researching, teaching, and writing courses on the topics of stress and mental health in the workplace. He is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Salford, UK, where he led the establishment of the Psychology Department. He is a British Psychological Society media contact and is a regular contributor to television and radio broadcasts, as well as newspaper articles on psychological well-being and organizational behavior. Dr Weinberg runs workshops for diverse audiences ranging from psychiatrists to dentists and journalists to business managers and he has conducted studies on national politicians, social workers, healthcare staff and university employees. He is editor of The Psychology of Politicians (2012), and author of Organizational Stress Management: A strategic approach (with Val
Sutherland and Cary Cooper in 2010) and Surviving the Workplace – A Guide to Emotional Well-being (with Cary Cooper in 2007).

CARY COOPERis Distinguished Professor of Organizational Psychology and Health at Lancaster University, UK. He was Founding Editor of the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Editor of the journal Stress and Health and President of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. He is President of RELATE and Chair of the Academy of Social Sciences (a body comprising 43 learned societies in the social sciences with over 86,000 social scientists). Cary also serves on the Global Agenda Council on Health and Wellbeing of the World Economic Forum and has been made an Honorary Fellow of the British Psychological Society and awarded the Lord Dearing Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to higher education. He has a number of honorary doctorates from universities and received an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians. Professor Cooper was honoured with a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the Queen's Birthday Honours List in 2001.

Disjointed and disappointing

The first half, written by Peel, is fairly interesting, if disjointed. But the half finished posthumously by his family is a shocking derailment of a narrative just getting underway. It's a shame that John couldn't finish his autobiography - he led an interesting life at an interesting time.

Mitchel N. Townsend was born in rural Mason County Washington State, where he was raised on the intersection of two long family lines of dedicated hunters and back country outdoors men and women. He served 12 years (1985-97) in various Rifle Platoon and Battalion/Brigade level Headquarters Company HHC positions (S-3) within the US ARMY Infantry, US ARMY RESERVES Infantry, US ARMY NATIONAL GUARD Infantry, an Appointment to the US ARMY Infantry Officer’s School, with a final overseas (2) tour attached with Special Operations (Green Berets). His University background includes; Presidential and International Honors Scholar with degrees from the University of Puget Sound (BA), Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology (MA), has almost finished a second Masters (MA) from Gonzaga University Graduate School of Professional Studies, and a Doctorate (EdD) from the University of Calgary’s, Graduate Division of Educational Research with a combined cumulative Graduate School GPA of 3.95 respectively Townsend has taught college level courses both internationally and at two different Northwest Colleges where he recently designed and taught the first and only Bigfoot Courses offered at this academic level (CSI Bigfoot 2014 and Bigfoot Solved 2015) where he presented all of the current data as well his own independent multi-disciplinary discoveries. About the Author
During his lifetime Ironside was one of the most well-known preachers and teachers in the world. He was pastor of the Moody Church in Chicago from 1929 to 1948, which was founded by D. L. Moody and has since had such head pastors as Alan Redpath and Warren W. Wiersbe. Proofreader Needed

Good reprinting of an informative book, but the text of this print-on-demand edition is badly in need of proof reading. Far too many misspelled or misplaced words, numbers in place of letters, etc. I get the impression that the text was OCR scanned and then left as is.

Great book. Very informative. quick read. I personally didn't find problems with the text as the former reviewer did. Seems the text was fixed. I love the cover too. I just wish the publisher gave us a clue as to what those works are and how they relate to the book. I can guess... I recommendd anything by Ironside. Always a good read. Solid teaching.

The Birth of Lucy Brown

"You're a Winner Charlie Brown" is a selection of Peanuts cartoons from 1959-1960. If you like Pigpen, this would be a good one to read, as he appears in quite a few places. You even see him clean in one strip! There's a lot of Linus too. We see him talking though his short lived dream of being a doctor, wondering if he needs to shave, hurling rocks in a vacant lot to let out his emotions. Plus there's Charlie Brown attempting to fly a kite, which you can see from the cover.

Though you don't actually see her in this book, a great deal of this book involves the birth of and thoughts about baby Sally Brown. Chocolate cigar are handed out. Charlie Brown wants to dress her in a jumpsuit similar to his signature zig-zag shirt, and worries about his sis. Snoopy gets dressed up as a baby. Lucy wishes she had a sister and upsets Linus, who has one of the most heartbreaking faces I've seen in Peanuts when they make up again.

Schultz would continue to develop the style of his characters, though I admire the way they are drawn here. They're cute, but aren't "stereotyped in shape" at this stage, if you know what I mean.

Though there are some funny strips, and the birth of Sally is interesting in the scheme of all things Peanuts, it isn't the funniest of the Peanuts series I have read. My favorite Peanuts moments are the silly ones, and though there are silly moments here, they are few. Just a matter of taste. A good read for a rainy day.

More tales of the Little Red Haired Girl

This book was geared more twords children since it was baised off of a TV cartoon, but any Snoopy fan can enjoy it. The charming illistrations are not in comic strip style but instead take up pages, a plus in my oppinion. This is the story of the ongoing trials of Charlie Brown and his unrequitted love for the little red haired girl...a classic peanuts senario if there ever was one!

Peanuts Lovers, Take Note

Is there anyone who doesn't have fond memories of the last day of school? That may be why the TV special "You're in Love, Charlie Brown" was my favorite of the Peanuts cartoons. Unfortunately, it is not repeated with the same regularity as the Christmas and Halloween shows, and I was pleased to find it in book form. The story involves Charlie Brown's last-ditch efforts to meet the little red-haired girl before school closes for the summer. Of course, he fails, but the story ends on a happy note. I particularly liked the spring pictures with trees in bloom, lawns covered with flowers, and robin's-egg-blue skies. I only wish there were more outdoor scenes in the book, as there were in the TV show. But it's still a lovely book to look at and a charming story, and I think children of all ages will enjoy it.

Powerful reading, easy to understand, covers something most books ignore...

I would like to thank the authors of this remarkable book for a *superb* job. In the past two years I have read well over 30 books on the topic of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, antisocial personality disorder, sociopathy and psychopathy, so I enjoy comparing between texts and literature to see which are the best for people in this experience. This book is very clearly written for the lay person, and shows how to clearly identify these individuals, how to deal with them, and how to heal from the concussion after being hit by the relationship damage.

Most of all, I want to give the authors accolades for bringing forward (FINALLY!) the important relationship triad that involves the "Apath." This is a third person they bring in to elevate themselves and character assassinate the empath. This serves to prove that the predator is worthy, whether done through smear campaigns or distortion campaigns (either public, or whether behind the scenes in networking strategies). The role of the Apath, the person they enlist to side with them, is something that is not discussed or even mentioned in other books, and it is such a critical and unnerving part of the experience. Bravo to you for bringing it to light and defining its presence and how to manage that as well. A standing ovation to you for this. I'd love to see more on this, and how today's apath can also sometimes be an overlapping victim empath in some cases.

This was very well done, and will give a great eye-opening epiphany to many who are experiencing the puzzling maze of deception built by the sociopaths of our society. Great title, great topic, well done book. Highly recommended and a fabulous place to start reading on this topic that is misunderstood by so much of society. Oh, how charm can deceive.

A Must-Read !

I devoured the "The Empathy Trap" in one afternoon. The entire book felt like a chapter straight out of my life as I have been a magnet for narcissists and sociopaths my entire life. It wasn't until I read this book that I understood that being raised by a malignant narcissistic mother and growing up with a narcissistic, sociopathic brother would set the stage and become the recurring theme that would play out in my life for nearly 50 years with lovers, bosses, friends, neighbors, and other family members. This book shined a light of clarity and understanding into the darkest recesses of my life like no book ever has before. "The Empathy Trap" succinctly tied up all of the the elusive loose ends that have haunted me for decades by providing information to help me protect myself against "arch-manipulators." More importantly, this book succinctly outlines the players needed for the transaction of the sociopath to be successful. I have a newfound awareness about myself, the sociopath, how and why sociopaths go unnoticed and unpunished. If you have been in a romantic relationship, work relationship, or friendship with a narcissist, or a sociopath, or know someone who has, you owe it to yourself to read this book and/or recommend it. My copy is highlighted, underlined, and marked up. It is one I will keep on my book shelf and refer to for years to come.

Written in clear and simple language, "The Empathy Trap" encapsulates and renders accessible what are usually very complicated psychological terms and relational paradigms. Dr. Jayne McGregor and Tim McGregor, together, have put their clinical practice to work for those in the wider community, by offering this brief, but valuable guide to understanding, identifying, and healing from "sociopathic" or otherwise anti-social personalities.

Whether such types are found in your work place, social circle or family, there are ways of detecting what their specific pathological and unusual behaviours are, how they tend to operate outwardly and inwardly, and how their behaviours and beliefs complicate and pollute communications and triangulate relationships between immediate and extended family members as well as between their "targets" and social contacts.

This guide includes moving testimony by survivors of sociopathic abuse, as well as sober recommendations on how to establish healthy boundaries with abusers, and approaches to recovery from long-entrenched connection to them. It also offers a very helpful EQ (Emotional Quotient) test as well as a list of British and international organisations and mental health resources for those who need further assistance.

Overall, this is a must read for anyone in an abusive relationship, those interested in psychology and/or needing practical advice on removing the sociopath from his or her life and protecting children from harm and generational pain.

I have found that this work differs from other books on the subject of narcissism and personality disorders, in addressing, specifically, the role of the "apath", or apathetic members of a family or society, who enable and protect the sociopath and his/her abuse of the victim(s) (i.e. the "truth-tellers") either unknowingly, by relying on heresay, or by turning a blind eye to controlling, deceptive or manipulative behaviours. This is one insidious pattern, in the paradigm of emotional and mental abuse, that many books on personality disorders fail to address clearly or as thoroughly, and which most people need to understand, on a grand scale.

I highly recommend this work both for its practical benefit and its sensitive and pellucid style.
